The Roborock Qrevo CurvX is the pick: it is the only machine here with an anti-tangle main brush, an anti-tangle side brush and a published 17mm mop lift, which is the highest on this site. The Roborock Qrevo QV 35A has the same brush pairing at a much lower price but publishes no lift figure.
A mop combo in a shedding house is being asked to do two jobs that actively interfere with each other. The vacuum side has to pick hair up off the floor without winding it round a roller. The mop side then drags a damp pad across the same floor, and any hair the vacuum missed does not get mopped - it gets smeared into a wet rope and pushed into a corner.
That is why this page exists separately from the best mop combos and from best for pet hair. The general mop combo ranking weighs the dock and the mop most heavily. The pet hair ranking weighs brush construction. A combo for a shedding house has to win on both at once, and the list of machines that genuinely do is short.
The side brush is where the hair actually goes
Most shoppers check whether the main brush is anti-tangle and stop there. In a house with a long-haired dog or a long-haired human, the part that seizes up first is usually the side brush - a thin spinning spindle with nothing to stop hair climbing it, mounted where nobody looks.

Read those descriptions for what they commit to. Two machines name an anti-tangle treatment for the side brush as well as the main one - the Qrevo CurvX with its FlexiArm Arc, and the QV 35A, whose listing states anti-tangle main and side brushes outright. The Dreame X40 Ultra describes liftable brushes with an extending side brush, which is about reach rather than tangling. And one model does not describe its main brush at all.
The second figure: how far the mop lifts
A shedding house is almost never all hard floor. There are rugs, runners and a mat by the door, and the mop pad has to cross them without carrying water onto the pile. The specification that governs this is mop lift height, and it is the single most commonly omitted figure in the category.

Two figures and four blanks, from a group of machines that all sell themselves on mopping. The Qrevo CurvX publishes 17mm, the highest on this site. The Dreame X40 Ultra states a removable pad plus a 10.5mm raise, which is a different and arguably better answer - a pad that comes off entirely cannot drip on anything. Why the dock matters more here than on a normal mop page
In a house without pets, a mop pad picks up dust and floor grime, and rinsing it is roughly adequate. In a house with a dog, the pad comes back carrying hair, dander and whatever was tracked in from outside, and it comes back like that every single run.
That is an argument for the hot-water washing docks specifically rather than for self-emptying in general. The Qrevo CurvX states auto hot-water washing with drying; the Dreame X40 Ultra states 158F mop washing against a washboard with auto refill. Both describe agitation and heat, which is what actually gets hair and grease out of a pad. How we picked
Criteria first, products second. These are the things we ranked on, stated before anything is recommended.
Anti-tangle on the side brush counts as much as the main brush. Long hair wraps the side brush spindle first - it is thin, it spins fast and nobody cleans it. A machine with an anti-tangle main brush and a plain side brush has solved half the problem.
A published mop lift height is required to rank well. In a shedding house the floor plan is almost always mixed, so the pad crosses a rug. Without a stated lift figure you are trusting the machine to hold water off carpet with no number behind it.
The dock must wash the pad, not rinse it. A pad loaded with hair and dander needs washing with agitation. We credit stated hot-water washing and drying; we do not credit "self-cleaning" with no mechanism.
Described mechanisms beat percentage claims. "DuoDivide splits the roller with spiral blades" is checkable. "100 percent detangling" is a number that cannot be wrong and therefore cannot be right.

Your home has thresholds or deep carpet. eufy publishes no climb height and no mop-lift height for this model, so you cannot check either before you buy.
It has a full self-cleaning dock with mop washing, drying and self-emptying, which is a lot of dock for the money. It is the skip on a pet hair page for one specific reason: Dreame does not describe its main brush anywhere we could read. On a page about hair wrapping a roller, the brush is the whole question, and this is the only machine here that will not answer it. Its 5,300 Pa is also the lowest stated figure in this group by a wide margin.
Matching the machine to the animal
A long-haired dog and mixed floors - the Qrevo CurvX. Anti-tangle on both brushes, 17mm of lift so rugs are genuinely safe, and a washing dock that uses heat.
The same problem on a normal budget - the Qrevo QV 35A. It carries the same anti-tangle main-and-side pairing and an all-in-one washing dock, and it publishes no climb height or mop lift, which is the trade.

Big thresholds and big suction, brush claims unproven - the Dreame L40s Ultra. 19,000 Pa and 40mm are both strong published figures; the detangling claim is the part you cannot check.

On brush hardware the best combos match anything vacuum-only - the Qrevo CurvX and QV 35A both pair an anti-tangle main brush with an anti-tangle side brush, which few vacuum-only robots do. The difference is maintenance: a combo adds pads that collect hair and a dock that has to wash them.
+ Will a mop combo smear pet hair around?
It can, and that is the failure mode to design against. It happens when the vacuum pass leaves hair behind and the wet pad then drags it. The defenses are an anti-tangle main brush that actually picks hair up, enough suction to lift it off a hard floor, and a dock that washes rather than rinses the pad between runs.
