Affiliate disclosure
This site earns affiliate commission. Here is exactly how, and what stops it changing what we recommend.
Bristle & Bot is funded by affiliate commission. When you buy something through a link on this site, we earn a percentage of the sale at no extra cost to you. That is the entire business model. There is nothing else.
Amazon Associates
Bristle & Bot is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Our Associates tracking tag is bristleandbot-20. It is applied centrally by our own redirect, which is why buy links here go to a /go/ address before they reach the retailer. That page adds the tag and forwards you; it collects nothing about you beyond the fact that a click happened and which product it was for.
Amazon is currently the only network we are part of. As of 2026-09-01 we have joined no other affiliate program, so every buy link on this site goes to Amazon. If that changes, this page changes with it, and the merchant list below is generated from the site’s own configuration rather than written by hand.
- Amazon — affiliate link, we earn a commission
- Every other outbound link on this site — manufacturer specification pages, government sources, independent reviewers — is a plain citation. We earn nothing from those and they are not affiliate links.
What commission does not affect
It does not affect what we recommend or in what order. That is easy to claim and worth explaining the mechanics of, because the structure is what makes it true rather than our good intentions:
- Criteria are published before products are named. Every roundup states what it ranked on in a “how we picked” block on the page, and the products are then fitted to those criteria.
- Every figure is linked to its source. If a ranking does not follow from the specifications shown, that is visible to you.
- Every roundup names a pick to skip. A list where everything is recommended is a list that has not made a judgment.
- We are on one network. There is no commission-rate arbitrage between retailers to be tempted by, because there is only one retailer.
What we do not accept
- No sponsored placements. No manufacturer has paid for inclusion or position here, and none has been offered the chance.
- No free units. We do not take manufacturer samples. We also do not test products, so there would be nothing to do with one.
- No paid links in editorial text. An in-body link to another page of this site is a navigation link and earns nothing.
Prices
Prices on this site render only from a live data feed, and only while that feed is fresh. When it is stale or unavailable, the button reads “Check price on Amazon” and no number is shown at all. We never display a remembered, cached or estimated price. Prices at the retailer change constantly and the price you pay is the one shown at checkout, not the one shown here.
Disclosure on every page
This notice is not confined to this page. Every page carrying an affiliate link renders a disclosure above the first one, and every buy button carries an #ad label and a link back here. That is how the FTC’s endorsement guidance says it should work, and it is also just how anyone would want to read a site like this.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you think a link is not labeled properly, email info@bristleandbot.com. The method behind the recommendations is on how we pick, and the independence rules are on the editorial policy.
