Privacy policy
What this site collects, what it does not, and how to opt out. Last updated 2026-09-01.
Bristle & Bot is a publication, not a shop. We do not sell anything, we do not take payments, and we do not hold accounts. That keeps this policy short.
What we collect
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. That involves cookies and it records things like the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you are on. We do not use it to identify you and we do not try to.
- Affiliate clicks. When you click a buy link we record that a click happened and which product it was for, so we can see which recommendations people find useful. That event carries no personal information.
- Contact form submissions. If you email us or use the form on the contact page, we receive your name, your email address and your message, and we keep them for as long as it takes to deal with what you sent.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, so no passwords and no profiles.
- No payment details. Purchases happen on the retailer’s site.
- No advertising networks and no third-party ad trackers.
- No newsletter list, because we do not run one.
- No selling or sharing of any data with anyone for marketing.
Third parties involved
- Google Analytics — site analytics, as described above.
- Amazon — when you follow a buy link you leave this site and Amazon’s own privacy policy applies. Our affiliate tag tells Amazon the visit came from us; it does not tell us who you are.
- Vercel — our hosting provider, which processes standard server request logs.
Opting out
Any ad-blocker or tracker-blocker will stop the analytics script loading, and the site works completely normally without it — no banner, no nag, no degraded experience. Browser settings that block third-party cookies have the same effect. You can also install Google’s own opt-out browser add-on if you would rather handle it at that level.
Your rights
If you have emailed us and want your message deleted, ask and we will delete it. If you want to know what we hold about you, ask — for almost everyone the answer is nothing at all, because we have no accounts and analytics data is not identifiable to a person.
Children
This site is written for adults buying household appliances and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update it here and change the date at the top. Last updated 2026-09-01.
