Hardwood needs a soft roller brush, a washing mop dock and controlled water — not high suction. The eufy X10 Pro Omni publishes the most complete sheet for it, including a 12mm mop lift. Hardwood is the surface robot vacuums are best at, which is exactly why choosing one for it is harder than it looks. Almost anything will pick dust off a smooth floor, so the suction figure that separates machines on carpet separates nothing here. The differences that remain are about what the brush does to debris it does not collect, what the mop does with dirty water, and what both do to the finish over several years.
On a hard floor, the brush can make things worse
A brush designed to dig into carpet pile has nothing to dig into on a plank floor. Stiff bristles meet a fragment of cereal, flick it two feet sideways out of the robot's path, and the machine drives on. You end up with debris redistributed into the corners and along the skirting rather than in the bin — the specific complaint people describe as the robot just pushing things around.
Soft rollers and rubber-fin brushes do not do this. They make contact across a wider footprint, they deform rather than strike, and debris ends up in the airflow instead of airborne. The construction each maker publishes is the thing to read.

The mop is doing most of the work
On carpet, mopping is a liability to be lifted out of the way. On hardwood it is the point. Dry vacuuming lifts the crumbs and the visible dust; the film of footprints, paw marks and kitchen grease that makes a wood floor look dull comes up only with water and a pad that is clean enough to absorb it.
That makes the dock the deciding component, exactly as it is on the mop combo roundup. A dock that scrubs the pad, extracts the dirty water and dries the pad with warm air is doing something a human with a bucket does between rooms. A dock that only charges the robot is not.
Edges are visible on wood and hidden on carpet
Fitted carpet hides the strip along the skirting board. A plank floor shows it as a distinct gray line, and it is the first thing people notice when a robot has been running for a month. Every maker here has some answer — an extending side brush, an arm that reaches into the corner, a mop pad that swings out — and almost none of them publishes a figure for how far it reaches.
That is a genuine gap rather than an oversight we can fill. We are not going to estimate a reach in millimeters that no maker states. What we can say is that the models which name the mechanism, like Roborock's FlexiArm family and Dreame's extending side brush, are describing hardware that exists, and the models that describe edge cleaning only in adjectives are not.
Scratching, in proportion
The fear that a robot vacuum will scratch a wood floor is common and mostly misplaced. The wheels are rubber, the body clears the floor, and the brush is softer than the finish. What actually causes marks is grit trapped under a wheel or a caster, dragged repeatedly along the same line — which is an argument for running the robot often rather than for not running it.
The real exceptions are worth knowing: a dock parked on a soft finish, a caster wheel that has picked up a stone, and anything hard the robot pushes rather than collects. Will a robot vacuum scratch your floor goes through each of those and what to check.
How we picked
Criteria first, products second. These are the things we ranked on, stated before anything is recommended.
A soft roller or rubber-fin main brush rather than stiff bristles. On a hard surface the brush has nothing to dig into, so a stiff one flicks debris ahead of the machine instead of collecting it.
A dock that washes the mop pad, because on hardwood the mop does most of the real cleaning and an unwashed pad is redistributing by the second room.
A published mop-lift height for any rug the route crosses, and a published water-control claim, since standing water is what damages a wood floor.
Edge and corner behavior — an extending side brush or arm, because a hardwood room shows the dust line along the baseboard that a carpet hides.

eufy X10 Pro Omnieufy publishes an obstacle clearance, a mop lift, two runtimes and both tank capacities — more of its own numbers than any other maker here.
It is an excellent machine and the best answer on this site to a different question — getting under low furniture, where its 80mm body and solid-state navigation genuinely earn the money. On a flat hardwood floor you are paying flagship price for clearance you do not need, and Roborock publishes no threshold height for it at all. If your hardwood is not the only surface
