Disclosure — some links on this page go to Amazon, and we earn a commission if you buy through them. It costs you nothing extra and it does not change what we recommend or in what order. The full disclosure.
ECOVACS publishes 9 of the 9 specifications we track for this model, which is more than most. Everything below is quoted from ECOVACS’s own material, with the page it came from linked on each row. We have not handled this machine.
The OZMO ROLLER is the most interesting mop mechanism currently sold. Instead of two pads that collect dirt and carry it until the dock rinses them, a 175mm roller is scraped and rewetted continuously through the run, so the far end of a large floor gets much the same water as the near end. On tile, that is a different outcome rather than a marginal one.
ECOVACS also publishes more conditions than most: 20mm of obstacle crossing with the mop attached, 10mm of mop lift, a 0.22L bin, 291 minutes in silent mode. Stating that the climb figure is measured with the mop on is a small piece of honesty almost nobody else offers. The 20mm figure itself is low, and the small bin means the machine leans hard on its dock.

What the sheet says it does well, and what it does not
Strengths
- Roller mop self-washes during the run rather than only at the dock
- Publishes a threshold figure and states the condition (with mop attached)
- Stated 291 minutes of runtime in silent mode
Limits
- 20mm climb is among the lowest published figures here
- 0.22L on-board bin is small, so it leans hard on the dock
Who it is for
Hard floors that actually get dirty — kitchens, entryways, homes with dogs.
Who should skip it
Your sills are tall. ECOVACS publishes 20mm with the mop attached, which is at the low end of this table.
We name it as the pick to skip on one page, for reasons specific to what those pages are about:
- Robot vacuums for laminate floors — This is the best mopping hardware in our comparison and we recommend it elsewhere without hesitation. On laminate specifically, a continuously rinsing roller puts more water on the floor than a damp pad does, and laminate's one real weakness is water reaching the core through a seam. If your laminate is older or the joins have opened at all, buy the gentler mop.

How we assessed this
By reading what ECOVACS publishes and recording it with its source. We have never owned, handled or measured this machine, and nothing above is written as though we had. Where the manufacturer publishes nothing, the row says so rather than borrowing a number from somewhere else. The full method is on how we pick, and if a figure here does not match the page it links to, tell us and we will correct it with a date.
Questions people actually ask
+ Does ECOVACS publish a threshold climb height for the ECOVACS DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI?
Yes — 20mm with the mop attached. ECOVACS states the condition alongside the figure, which is unusual and useful — a mop-combo's climb is not the same as a bare chassis's. Compare it against every other model on the cross-brand climb table.
+ What suction does the ECOVACS DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI have?
ECOVACS states 18,000 Pa. Remember that pascal ratings are not standardized between manufacturers, so that figure ranks this model within ECOVACS's own range and does not compare across brands — the full explanation.
+ Is the ECOVACS DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI good for pet hair?
Its main brush is described as rubber main brush with zerotangle 2.0, which is the specification that matters most in a hair-heavy house — more than suction. The brush comparison sets out what each design does.
+ Can the ECOVACS DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI mop over carpet?
ECOVACS states a mop lift of 10mm automatic. Compare that against your own pile depth rather than against other models — mop lift compared.
+ Who should skip the ECOVACS DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI?
Your sills are tall. ECOVACS publishes 20mm with the mop attached, which is at the low end of this table.
